Abstract
This paper first reviews the computer creativity literature to develop some ideas of what is meant by ìcreativityî as well as how the creativity of programs can be judged. It also discusses several programs that are judged to be more or less creative from both the individual and systems perspectives. Using this research as a base, my project advances previous work on creative systems. This includes designing and implementing a society of creative agents where the artist agents are creative in a fundamentally different way than in the previous work. The two experiments demonstrated on the previous society are then performed in this new environment, finding that the expected properties do not hold in this instantiation. Possible reasons for this failure are discussed, as well as future research directions that could be taken within this framework.
