Abstract

This summer, our department will host the Second Pacific Rim Summer Workshop in Global Distributed Software Development, August 14-26, 2011. This two-week program will bring together computer science students from the Pacific Northwest and from Asia for intensive classes on global software development, cross-cultural communication, international computer ethics, and industry topics. The faculty team are from CIS, Peking University, Beihang University, and industry partners Google, Microsoft, and/or Intel. CIS juniors, seniors, first and second year M.S. students can earn 4 credits through CIS 410/510.

We will present information about the program including curriculum details, costs, and how to apply. Faculty and students who participated in the 2010 Pacific Rim Summer Workshop in Beijing will talk about their experiences and answer questions. This program is supported by the National Science Foundation and the College of Arts and Sciences.
