Once you register for CIS 210, you must take one or more tests to help you determine if you should remain in the course. Here is some information on CIS 210 placement tests.
All CIS 210 students must take the 112 test unless they have passed 112 or equivalent prior to winter quarter.
They will be asked to withdraw from CIS 210.
The only 210 students exempt from the CIS 1 test are those that have taken a 100 level CIS course, or equivalent.
All CIS 210 students must take this test. No students are exempt.
You will be sent a letter asking you to withdraw from 210.
This year, the CIS 1 and CIS 2 tests are advisory. You can remain in 210 no matter what your score on the tests. However, the tests are meant to be predictors of your success. Hence, if you do poorly you should seriously consider (1) taking a 100 level course such as 122 before taking 210, and (2) talking to an advisor about your academic options.
Math and CIS Placement Testing is conducted by the Testing Center.
