Other: We will first go to the basement of Oregon Hall to see the co-location space that houses lots of networking equipment. We will then go to the Computing Center to see the campus central computing facility. |

| Date: March 3 Time: 2:00 - 3:00 Organization: ZFIN Max # of Participants: 10 Directions: Meet in the lobby/entry of Deschutes at 1:50 to walk together to the Heron conference room, 3rd Floor, 1600 Millrace, Riverfront Research Park Other: ZFIN, the zebrafish model organism database, (http://zfin.org) located at the University of Oregon is comprised of a team of biologists and computer scientists who collaborate to design, develop and maintain a dynamic bioinformatics database infrastructure for integration, consolidation and interpretation of zebrafish gene structures, expression patterns and mutant phenotypes. Sierra Moxon, ZFIN Database Administrator, will describe her role in this interdisciplinary environment. A tour of the Zebrafish International Stock Center will provide a glimpse of the biology behind the database. |
