CIS department welcomes new instructor, Eric Wills, Ph.D.

Eric Wills

Dr. Eric Wills joined the instructional staff of the Computer and Information Science as an Instructor of Computer Science beginning winter term 2011. Eric will already be familiar to many in the department, as he has been a graduate student and, more recently, a part-time instructor here, teaching CIS 410/510 Introduction to Game Programming last spring and CIS 122 and CIS 212 this fall. His primary teaching interests are in the areas of computational science, computer graphics, computer architecture, scientific visualization, artificial intelligence, and applied programming languages.

Eric received his Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Oregon in 2008. His research focused on 3D animation, visualization, AI, and biomechanics. Eric and Dr. Kent Stevens have collaborated on a number of publications, including "Rex, sit: Digital modeling of Tyrannosaurus rex at rest," in P. Larson & K. Carpenter (Eds.), Tyrannosaurus rex: The tyrant king. Bloomington, IN: Indiana University Press (2008).

During the winter term, Eric will be teaching CIS 111 Web Programming and CIS 314 Computer Organization. In the spring, he will teach CIS 212 and CIS 441/541 Computer Graphics.
