122 Email Announcements

Your Official UO email account: username@uoregon.edu

Beginning fall term 2005, all UO students will be assigned an email account in the uoregon.edu domain if they do not already have one. The email address will be username@uoregon.edu. This account will be designated as the user's official university email account and may not be changed absent university approval. Whenever possible, the university intends to send official communications by email. All university communications that are sent by email will be sent to this account. This address is also used for staff or student directories and instructor class lists.

In the past, employees and students were able to designate an alternate "preferred" email account. Official communications will no longer be sent to such accounts. However, you may forward email from your official university email account to a private account. Please refer to the Personal Menu in DuckWeb for your official university email account and instructions on email forwarding (see below).

All 122 announcements are sent by email to your official university email account.

If you wish to receive 122 announcements, therefore, please login to DuckWeb, select Personal Information, select Update Email Address(es), and specify the address you wish the university to use when communicating with you via email.

How to Forward Your UO Mail to Your Primary Email Account

Class announcements (and other UO mail) are sent to your Official UO email account. If this is not your primary email account that you regularly use, you may choose to have your e-mail forwarded to a private e-mail address outside the official university network address:

Login to DuckWeb and choose Personal Information; choose "View E-mail Address" and the resulting page will include a link to instructions for forwarding your mail. After following the instructions, be sure to send yourself mail at username@uoregon.edu, to verify that forwarding works.

Removing Your Name from the 122 Email List

If you drop the course and wish to no longer receive 122 email, please send the instructor your request to be removed from the list.
