"[Instructors] are a Superstitious Sect,
Great Keepers of Set Times and Places."
-- Poor Richard's Almanac
"We don't have time to stop for gas, we're already late."
-- M. Cleron (on how software projects are often run)
A due-date is like an appointment you have with an important client. If
it's not possible for you to keep the appointment, you should make every effort
to contact that person to let her/him know, and make other arrangements. If
you "stand up" your client and make no contact to explain the circumstances,
you should
not
expect
any special treatment.
No late
papers are accepted without your instructor's prior approval.
If
you have a legitimate, verifiable, reason for missing a deadline,
please contact your instructor or GTF as soon as
possible before the due-date, so that you can make arrangements.
If that is not possible, contact your
instructor or GTF at the first opportunity after the due-date.
Do not submit late work without contacting your instructor
or GTF. It will not be graded.
If your work is late, you must discuss the situation with your instructor or GTF and, if possible, please do it in advance.
