Smooth Landings (a.k.a. Graceful Degradation)

As we enter the home stretch, it's time to get the gradebook ready for computing your final grade and complete any Old Business still pending.

Verify your Scores in the Gradebook.

Login to Blackboard and check your grades:

A "bang" (!) in the gradebook means your project has been submitted but needs to be graded.

A dash (-) in the gradebook means your project has not been submitted. A dash (-) is replaced by a zero (0) after the project has been graded.

A score in the gradebook means your project has been graded. Click on the score, then hit the View button to read the Feedback to User. This is your Project Grade Report (PGR) where deductions (if any) are explained.

Contact your GTF or Instructor before finals week to report any problems with your grades in the gradebook.

Estimate your Final Grade.

Re-read the Syllabus to review how your final grade is computed. This is the same formula used in the Blackboard gradebook, so please commit it to memory.

You can use the online grade calculator as a tool to predict (and verify) your grade.

All students in class are graded in the same way: Fairly. Its easy and straightforward for you to know exactly what grade you have earned in the course, and are on track to receive.

If you have concerns about your final grade, you are welcome to meet with your instructor. See Staff Info in Blackboard for office hours, or make an appointment. Please do this before finals week.
