  CIS425 Blog is available. This is a supplemental site designed for my CIS610 Teaching Effectiveness class. I encourage you to check it out and try to use it to post questions and suggestions about the class or the site. The site password is the same as for the Official site.

• 2007-10-15 Scheme programming tips

  I have been using DrScheme on my Mac. It has many possible language options, I just chose Standard (R5RS), which seems to work. You can get it at www.drscheme.org if you do not want to use the version installed on Solaris.

  I recommend that when you do the Scheme and ML exercises, you do your editing in a real text editor that you like, and that you paste the edited code into the Scheme or ML window.

  I have collected various notes from prior year's tutorial sections at Week 1 Tutorial Notes

• 2007-09-26 The Friday Discussion/Tutorial Section has been cancelled

  Everyone will be attending the Thursday section at 1:00 - 1:50 pm Thursday in 117 FEN (Fenton)

• 2007-09-26 The Week1 Supplementary Notes have been improved

  I have reformatted some of the diagrams so that they are now aligned properly (especially the parse trees). I will continue to revise these notes as I discover problems or potential improvements. See Week 1 Supplementary Notes on Syntax

• 2007-09-25 Homework #1 has been amended

  A programming exercise has been added to the homework assignment at Homework 1

• 2007-09-24 Register with Duckweb for a discussion section

  Apparently, there was a problem with Duckweb that prevented students from registering for a discussion section after registering for the CIS 425 class.

  This has been fixed and all students should verify that they are registered with Duckweb for both the Monday/Wednesday class and either one of the discussion sections (but not both).

  I am assuming that the reason for this registration is to load-balance the discussion sections.
