CIS 610 - Week#6 Academic Dishonesty

There will be no questions due this week. However, please think about the following and participate in the class discussion.

a. What methods do you know of that CIS students use to cheat on assignments or exams? If you know of none, what methods have you heard about that CIS students use to cheat on assignments or exams?

b. In my large classes, I make 2 versions of each exam (same questions, but in a different order) and print them in 2 different colors. Does this send a negative message to the students - that I don't trust them not to copy from one another if everyone has the same exam?

c. Are there certain CIS classes that one is more likely to try to cheat than in other CIS classes? Why?

d. What methods might you use when teaching a class to discourage cheating?
