Check this page during the term for special announcements and corrections.

·        Welcome to CIT 281.  Read the syllabus, schedule, and assignment pages.

·        If you have trouble uploading your files to Andromeda2, place a floppy disk, or other removable media, with the files on it in the drop box in Deschutes where you are putting your printouts, or turn the removable media in to the instructor in class.

·        In order to save paper, you may use the print screen approach when asked to print information from an application.

·        Lab sections will start the second week of the term.

·        04/10/07 – The lexus.mdb database used in Assignment 1 is now available from the Notes page here, and the Resources folder on the Andromeda2 server for those students who had problems downloading it from the Web site referenced in the assignment.  See the Syllabus page for the link to Andromeda2.

·        04/25/07 – The study guide for the midterm exam (StudyGuideMidterm.doc) may now be found on the Notes page.  Answers to the review questions at the end of the tutorials in the text are in TextRevQuesAnswersTut1-3.doc also available from the Notes page.

·        04/26/07 – We are putting a copy of the textbook on reserve in the main library.

·        05/01/07 – The document SampleTestMidterm.doc available from the Notes page contains sample questions similar to those on the Midterm Exam.

·        05/07/07 – The answers in the SampleTestMidterm.doc document have been corrected to reflect those discussed in class.

·        05/07/07 – Midterm exam distribution is in MidtermResultsGraph.doc available from the Notes page.

·        05/10/07 – Assignment 3 due date has been postponed.  See the Schedule page.

·        05/14/07 – The VB Editor’s debug tool is described in Debug.doc available from the Notes page.  The debugger is an excellent tool for finding errors in VBA procedures.

·        05/16/07 – Hints for Assignment 4, Exercise 9, pg. 539 – Remember that Worksheets and Worksheet are different.  When we have plural names, they are almost always collections of objects, not individual objects.  Also, recall that when we assign a value to an object variable we must use the Set command.

·        05/16/07 – For those in the CIT Minor program, you must declare the minor in order to register for CIT 381.  Declaring the CIT Minor is done in person at the CIS main office in Deschutes starting on May 21.  (Note the office is closed noon-1:00pm.)

·        05/16/07 – There is a handout named MSQuery.doc on the Notes page with some information related to Tutorial 9.

·        06/03/07 – The study guide for the final (StudyGuideFinal.doc) and the answers to the review questions (TextRevQuesAnswersTut4-14.doc) at the end of the concept lessons in the text are now available from the Notes page.  Sample questions for the Final Exam are in SampleTestFinal.doc available from the Notes page.

·        06/04/07 – The instructor had a death in the family and needed to travel out of state, so there will be a substitute instructor Tue & Thu this week.

·        06/08/07 – Regarding the final exam, besides the materials mentioned above, the PowerPoint lecture notes are a very good study aid because they lay out the details of the topics considered most important in this course.  Also, a review of the assignments covered by the final will help the student to know what is considered important.  The instructor is available via e-mail if students have questions about the final exam.
