(08-06-09) Kevin has provided solutions to the last homework assignment problems.
(08-06-08) A FAQ: Even though the final is comprehensive, will there be more of a focus on post midterm topics?
My enigmatic answer: To a degree, but not to the exclusion of the midterm topics. Comprehensive is the operative word.
(08-06-06) The final exam will take place in class on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:15. It will be open book and one page of notes. During the weekend I will post a marginally helpful second part of the study guide (to be concatenated with the first part posted for the midterm.)

  - Perceptions of novelty and difficulty increase, as do those of pace and -strangely - clarity.
  - Would be helpful to see specific examples. Keep on reminding me.
  - Socratically constructing a formula or an algorithm can be both useful and very time consuming. Sometimes it's better to simply state the formula and then discuss it. Good point -- depends on the measure of goodness.
  - Assign homework on Friday. Any day is bad for somebody.

  - At first I didn't like it when you made us participate, but now I like it because I get more out of class that way. Need I say more: I had to quote it verbatim...
- (08-04-14) Googling the string, I found a couple of sites for algorithm animation: Partition (aka. Union/Find) data structure and MWST algorithms.

    - I'd rather cover more topics to a lesser depth. I believe depth is necessary for a thorough understanding, without which going through topics is a vacuous exercise.

- (08-04-08) I was asked to remind the CIS 315 students that they should be meeting with their advisor this term to complete their Major Progress Review. Additionally, if you want to change your advisor (for whatever reason), you should talk to Cheri to be reassigned.
