Welcome to CIS 170! Whether you're already interested in computer science or just trying to fulfill a general science requirement, this class will keep your attention all summer long. This term, you'll learn about the ins & outs, history and future of computers. We'll cover techniques for troubleshooting, programming and understanding these mystic machines. We'll also delve into the world of the geek, investigate geek culture and bring you in on jokes, games and news of the geek underground.
A large part of our work will revolve around the internet, including research, browsing, programming and entertainment. We'll cover hardware, algorithms, pseudocode and a few of the programming languages that are currently hot on the scene.
Oh, did I mention Fridays are optional?
