Good ways to get help in CIS 122

  • Ask questions before, during, and after class.

Or, you may submit questions for the next class by sending email to
122staff@cs.uoregon.edu. Use the subject line "Question for Class".

  • Come to lab: your own and possibly others, too. Please let us know about this in advance (an email will suffice) to ensure a computer for everyone. Labs will always include time for answering questions on the current project.

  • Stay after or come early for lab – instructional staff will be in Klamath B-13 (across the hall from Klamath B-26) before and after lab on Tuesday, after lab on Wednesday, before lab on Thursday, and after lab on Friday.

  • Come to other CIS 122 Help Hours in Klamath B-13. These are held every weekday at various hours and also by appointment (see schedule, above).

  • Send email. Replies may take up to 24 hours (longer on weekends), though they may be faster. For best results, send email to the 122staff list, which is monitored by the instructor and the gts. If we get two or more questions on the same topic, we will post the reply as an announcement on Blackboard and the class website.

Contact the instructor directly with topics that are not appropriate for the general email list. Email messages work best for short questions. For longer discussions, please see above.

  • Tutoring (for a fee) for CIS 122 is available through the UO Teaching Learning Center. Individual or (if enough people are interested) small group tutoring is available.
