Career/Internships Seminar

Course Description

Preparation for careers and internships in Computer and Information Science.  Topics will include resume preparation, portfolio presentation, job search strategies, career fairs, and interview preparation.  The Career/Internship seminar also hosts recruiters and participates in Career Center and other recruiting events.

This seminar is offered every term during the academic year.  All Computer Science majors are welcome to attend Career/Internship seminar meetings.  Upper-division students may enroll in this 407 one time for two credits.  Students can pair CS 407 Career/Internship seminar credits with CS 404 Internship credits for a total of four upper-division elective credits.

Grading will be based on the following criteria:

To pass this seminar, students are expected to submit all required deliverables and attend all seminar meetings.  Attendance will be taken during the first 5 minutes of each seminar meeting.  Missing more than one seminar meeting due to unexcused absence will result in failure of the seminar.  Absences will only be excused in accordance with the University Course Attendance and Engagement policy.
