CS 422 Software Methodologies
A. Hornof - February 8, 2024
Due Date
- Monday, Feb 12, 8PM, on Canvas.
The 1-Page Proposal
Each student should please submit a 1-page PDF to the Canvas assignment entitled "Project 2 - Project Ideation".
In this PDF, please describe a project that you might like to do for Project 2. Feel free to discuss your ideas with other students, but every student should submit a separate idea.
Your project description should include:
- A project title.
- Your name and a date.
- A brief description of what the system will do.
- Why it would be a fun project.
- What technologies you might use to build it.
Three criteria that you should try to meet:
- Your project should be intended for someone else, not for you. For example, it should not a tool that you need, but a tool that someone else needs. To this end, you should be thinking about what people you can interview to learn about the needs of a user group.
- Try to address some sort of real-world need, such as to advance science, to improve health or fitness, to support teaching and learning, to improve equality, or to help people who are disabled, or people who are disenfranchised.
- Try to propose something new, something that doesn't exist now.
A little more info:
- Please submit a single-page PDF file.
- Please come to class prepared to describe your idea(s) in about 30 seconds.
- You may submit more than one idea, but please keep them all to one side of a single-page PDF.
- It is okay if you do not know how you would build the system.
- Please do not propose a system that uses machine learning (deep learning).
- More details on Project 2 are described on the course web site.
Thank you!
