Transfer Information

For specific information pertaining to Oregon community colleges, select your transfer institution from the following list:

Preparing for a CIS Major at UO

To be fully admitted as a CIS major, you must have:
  • Lower Division Computer Science:
    • CIS 210, 211 and 212 Computer Science I, II, III at UO
    • or
      • CS 161 and 162 Computer Science I, II at an Oregon community college
      • CS 260 (or CIS 261) Data Structures at an Oregon community college
    • or equivalent courses from an accredited college
  • Mathematics
    • MATH 231-232 Discrete Mathematics from UO or an Oregon community college
    • or MATH 251-253 Calculus from an Oregon community college
    • or equivalent courses from an accredited college
  • Completed all required courses with grade of C- or better and an average grade of 2.60 or better.
Although calculus is not required for CIS major status, it is required to graduate, and you should consider taking it early in your education.

Preparing for a MACS Major at UO

To be fully admitted as a MACS major, you must have:
  • Lower Division Computer Science:
    • CIS 210, 211 and 212 Computer Science I, II, III at UO
    • or
      • CS 161 and 162 Computer Science I, II at an Oregon community college
      • CS 260 (or CIS 261) Data Structures at an Oregon community college
    • or equivalent courses from an accredited college
  • Discrete Mathematics
    • MATH 231-232 Discrete Mathematics at UO or LCC
    • or equivalent courses from an accredited college
  • Calculus
    • MATH 251-253 Calculus at UO or an Oregon community college
    • or equivalent courses from an accredited college
  • Completed all required courses with grade of C- or better and an average grade of 2.60 or better.

If you do not meet the requirements for full admission to the major at the time you transfer to UO, you will be admitted as a pre-major. Once you are eligible to become a major, you can file a change of major form with the CIS department.
