Student Volunteer Call

Important Dates

Submissions Due : February 6, 2009
Notifications: February 13, 2009

ICSE 2009 is an excellent opportunity for students to meet and talk with leading academic and industrial researchers and practitioners in the area of software engineering. Being a student volunteer is also a great way to meet other students from all over the world and to offset some of the costs of the conference. Student volunteers are critical in ensuring that the conference runs smoothly and ICSE 2009 would not be possible without their enthusiastic contribution.

What you get

  • Complimentary registration to the main conference.
  • Hotel accommodation covering the room cost and tax (you will be required to share a room).
  • Tickets to meals and receptions organized by the conference.
  • Free ICSE 2009 T-shirt.

What you provide

  • Approximately 20 hours of work in total during the week of the conference.
  • Technical assistance to speakers and conference participants.
  • Help at the registration desk, checking badges for entry to events
  • Other similar tasks.
  • Availability between the 16th and the 24th of May (inclusive).

Qualifications

  • Enrollment as a Ph.D., Masters, or full-time undergraduate student at the time of the conference.
  • Proficiency in English.

Application Form

The call for student volunteers has now ended, we had a wonderful response!

Visa Letters

As a student volunteer, if you require a letter to support your application for a visa, you must arrange for the following to be sent via email to the student volunteers chair.

  • A letter of recommendation from your academic advisor. It must be emailed from an account in the university internet domain. For example, joe.professor@cs.umn.edu or jane.professor@cs.bristol.ac.uk are acceptable, but joe.prof@yahoo.com or jane.prof@gmail.com are not.
  • A copy of your CV.

These documents must arrive by the student volunteer application deadline.
