Be A Peer Advisor

REQUIREMENTS
  1. You must have completed the following CIS courses:
    CIS 210, 211, 212, and 313 or equivalents.
  2. Have at least Junior standing.
  3. Have an overall GPA and CIS GPA of at least 3.0 (A = 4.0).
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Enroll in EDLD 199 (1, 2, or 3 credits), during first term of peer advising. EDLD 199 will provide information on University of Oregon general requirements and peer advising.
  2. Hold a minimum of 3 office hours per week per credit enrolled, (or, if advising while you're taking EDLD 199, for each credit after the 1 credit you get just for taking EDLD 199), during which peer advising services will be given to students.
 
DUTIES
  1. To provide general and departmental academic advising.
    • degree analysis
    • information on major and minor requirements
    • course information
    • information on departmental resources
    • information on departmental activities
  2. To provide appropriate referrals to other departments and university offices.
  3. To provide information on job opportunities and internships.
