1.0 Introduction to Computer Simulation
Assumptions
We assume the reader does not understand the options and function of
computer-based simulation.
Goals for this Section
We will explain what simulations do and how they are helpful tools for system
analysis. Then we will describe three major classes of simulations and end
with a description of Discrete Event Simulation (DES). The Ecological
Simulation Testbed focuses on DES implementations.
