To evaluate the pC++ language and runtime system implementations, we have established a suite of benchmark programs that illustrate a wide range of execution behaviors, requiring different degrees of computation and communication. In this section, we describe the benchmark programs and point out features that make them particularly interesting for pC++ performance evaluation. The benchmarks were chosen to evaluate different features of the pC++ language and runtime system; two are related to CFD applications and two come from the NAS suite.
