Abstract
Harnessing the power of Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game console was previously a privilege extended to sizable video game studios with large development teams and equally large budgets. Now, with a new technology from Microsoft called XNA Game Studio Express, the console has been opened up to hobbyists, students, and anyone with a desire to see their video game ideas come to life. XNA Game Studio Express is a cross-platform (Windows and Xbox 360) game-development focused product; games are created in C# using Visual C# 2005 Express Edition, XNA Game Studio Express extensions, and the XNA Framework - a cross-platform game-specific API. This presentation highlights the key features of this new product, demonstrates the cross-platform capabilities, and includes a demo of the XNA Framework.
