Tracing in HPC++

• Tracing for Replay TULIP RTS provides HPC++ programs a set of event classes to trace.

  Click on cosy and load the Makefile.sgi in the PSTL rplcgtr directory.

  
  

  

  Execute % trc_prf -hpcxx_EVENTCLASS G

  This stage generates event traces for each node for Ariadne's replay engine.
• Processing Event Traces
  The traces are merged and converted to a form which the replay system can understand.
  
  % pcxx_merge -a mpi.0*.trc MPI.trc
mpi.0000.trc: 12237 records read.
mpi.0001.trc: 12195 records read.
mpi.0002.trc: 6135 records read.
mpi.0003.trc: 6133 records read.

  Tracing can be used in conjunction with performance profiling.
