Important Dates for Poster session

Deadline for submissions: August 20, 2006 (Extended)
Notification of acceptance: September 20, 2006
Poster Presentations: November 7, 2006

Goal and Scope

The FSE 2006 Poster session will provide a forum for software engineering researchers to present and receive feedback on their work in an informal and interactive fashion. The material presented may include both well-studied ideas/results and work-in-progress. Students at all stages are particularly encouraged to participate, since the Poster session is a unique opportunity for them to make their work highly visible, and to discuss their work one-on-one with other conference participants. Submission is particularly encouraged from participants in the Doctoral Symposium and the Inspirations events.

Submissions and Evaluation

Poster submissions may be Adobe Portable Document Format or Postscript and consist of two parts:

  1. Up to two pages in the FSE format containing an overview of the work to be presented. This part will be included in the proceedings (see publication below).
  2. (Optional) Up to two pages of additional material in any format, which the author(s) feel may help in the evaluation process, for example screen dumps for tools, further explanation of some material summarized in the first part, discussion of related work, etc.

Each submission will be evaluated by at least two members of the poster selection committee. The criteria for evaluation will include soundness, novelty and excitement of the material to be presented, as well as relevance to the topic of the conference.

Please submit posters by email to Dimitra Giannakopoulou with title "FSE 2006 poster submission".

Publication and Presentation

The conference proceedings is entirely electronic. A CD (separate from the main program, but distributed to every participant) will be produced for the posters and doctoral symposium. Only the first part of the submissions will be included in the proceedings.

The poster session will be held as part of a reception, with high attendance from conference participants. At least one author for each poster will have to attend the poster session. During this scheduled session, authors will be required to stay with their poster in order to discuss their work with interested participants. Authors may also individually provide additional schedules. The poster session will be organized to facilitate interactions, since posters provide researchers with a unique opportunity to make their work highly visible, and to discuss their work one-on-one with other conference participants.
