Checking In
-
Come to the University of Oregon
Commonly, participants fly into Portland (PDX) and take the Amtrak train to Eugene (EUG) (see references below).
-
Check In to your room
Your first meal is dinner on June 22 with the cafeteria closing at 8pm. (Yes, I write dates in the confusing American way, so "6/19/23" or "June 19, 2023" means 19. June 2023. Similarly, "$12,000.50" means $12.000,50.) People generally arrive between noon Sunday and 3AM Monday.
The instructions on the website above place you on 13th & Agate. Instead, don't turn on 13 and go past the crosswalk to the New Residence Hall on your right. (Unfortunately, its new enough that it doesn't have any other name yet.)
Yellow star marks check-in desk. Green diamonds mark doors leading to check-in desk.
-
If you arrive between 4pm and 8pm on June 22
Enter the door of the New Residence Hall and go to the check-in desk.
-
If you arrive before 4pm on June 22
Enter the door of the New Residence Hall. Sit down and wait until 4pm. Then, go to the check-in desk
-
If you arrive after 8pm on June 22
If you are arriving after 8pm, please email me in advance when you will be arriving on campus. If you will not have a working cell phone when you arrive on campus, let me know — some foreign cell phones don't work in the US unless you pay extra.
Outside the front door of the New Residence Hall, call 541-346-9114, and a staff member will open the door and check you in.

Checking Out
Your last meal is lunch, Sunday 7/6. When you leave, please place your key, the access card and meal card back in the envelope you received upon check-in. Keep the University of Oregon lanyard. If the check-in desk is open, give them the packet with your keys and cards. If the check-in desk is closed, drop the packet in the slot on the wall next to the desk.
Leaving after noon on July 6
If you are leaving July 6 evening, take your key packet to the check-in Desk before noon. Arrange with me to put your luggage at Deschutes Hall until you are ready to leave campus.
